About Shipping and Delivery

Shipping Carriers

Bella Chi's primary carrier is USPS.

Canadian Orders

Canadian Shipments might be subject to Duty, Brokerage, G.S.T., P.S.T. and other import taxes which will be collected by the driver upon delivery. Bella Chi has no control over these charges and does not collect them. These charges are based on the value of the product in Canadian dollars and your ship-to destination.

Shipping Rates

To view applicable shipping and delivery charges, add your items to the shopping cart and the shipping fees will be displayed. As you note the fees, please keep in mind our products can be quite heavy. Our shipping prices reflect their weight, dimensions and fragile nature.

Shipping Chocolate in Warm Climates & Seasons

During summer months or when shipping to a warm climate, chocolate needs to be shipped in no more than 1-2 days. If the shipping address is located in the 1 or 2 day shipping range then USPS Priority can be used. Otherwise, please select Express shipping for your order. If you do not choose the appropriate shipping selection, then your order may be delayed.

Bella Chi will not ship perishable products on Thursdays and Fridays. Packages will not be in transit over the weekend. This is to prevent the chocolate from melting. The bars should be shipped to an address where someone will be there to receive them so the bars are not left outside. We will not be held responsible for candy shipped, that is not picked up in a timely manner.

The Delivery Address

Please remember ground shipping can take up to 6 business days to arrive. Please be sure to provide us with complete and accurate delivery information including an accurate zip code. We will have to charge a $15.00 address correction charge if a bad address or zip code is supplied.

Your street address, apartment or room number is required on all orders for delivery. For business addresses, include recipient's name, company names, suite number or department number and (if possible) the telephone number.

Carriers may or may not leave a package at the door if no one is home. We have no control over which packages are left at recipient's door and which packages are not. This may cause a delay in receipt of your package if your recipient is not available to sign for the delivery. Bella Chi cannot be responsible for deliveries that are delayed if no one is available to sign for the package or if the package is left at the door and becomes lost or stolen.

Delivery Times

The time of day your order is placed, method of delivery you choose, weather conditions, delivery location, holidays and occasional delays by carriers can all impact the delivery time and arrival date of your order. We will always strive to do everything possible to expedite your order, however we do not guarantee specific times and dates of arrival. Deliveries to remote areas possibly take longer. Additional shipping charges apply for Alaska and Hawaii.

Damaged Items

All damage claims are the responsibility of the carrier and must be filed accordingly. Any spoilage or shortage resulting from damage is the responsibility of the carrier. Also any packages lost in transit are the responsibility of the carrier.

If any item arrived damaged, you must hold onto the package as is and contact us immediately. We will notify the carrier and follow their procedures to claim damage insurance automatically applied to every shipment on certain carriers like UPS and FedEx. It is your responsibility to make sure you hold onto any damaged items long enough should the carrier wish to inspect the damage. If you elected a carrier that does not offer any damage compensation (including lost package), you will not be eligible for any claims. Therefore, it is encouraged that you pay a little extra for this type of insurance in case this situation arises.

If the carrier issues a refund, you will be credited for the purchase. However, the carrier must approve and issue any refunds before a replacement or credit can be issued to you. They may or may not require a visual verification of damaged goods as per their policy.
